SMK Constructions are a third generation building company which is 100% family owned and operated. We have been operating on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas for over 30 years.

We take pride in our work and are proud to boast “nil defects” on 98% of our handovers at time of completion.

In 2006 SMK Construction joined the Hotondo Homes Franchise giving us access to all of the Hotondo Homes systems and access to an extensive range of home designs.

Hotondo Homes work closely with our national suppliers to ensure quality products at competitive prices. We work to a 16-week building schedule, we keep our clients up to date
along the way by emailing photos at each stage of progress. Our clients receive advice and assistance throughout the entire project from conception to completion.

Introducing Our Team:

Kerry Guppy
(Director / Principal Builder and Salesman) – Has been in the building industry for over 40 years and has been QBSA registered since 1978. Kerry regularly participates in courses and seminars, ensuring he is always up to date in the latest industry happenings. Kerry is a hands-on builder who regularly liaises with clients to make the building process as uncomplicated as possible.

Mark Green
(Supervisor / Construction Manager) – Has been in the building industry for the past 18 years, having commenced his apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery with Kerry when he was 15 years old. Mark worked for Kerry and a variety of other builders prior to purchasing the Hotondo Homes franchise with Kerry and his twin brother Stephen. Mark is currently in the process of obtaining his Builders license.

Stephen Green
(Builder / Estimator) – Has been in the building industry for the past 18 years, having also commenced his apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery with Kerry when he was 15 years old. He worked in partnership with Mark doing carpentry for Kerry and a variety of other local builders before joining Kerry and Mark in purchasing the Hotondo Homes franchise. Stephen has been QBSA registered as a Builder since 2004.

Sherry Guppy
(Administration / Cost Control) – Is Kerry’s wife of 21 years and has worked alongside him throughout his building career.

Lenore Green
(Administration / Color Consultant) – Lenore is married to Mark and has come on board when the Hotondo Homes franchise was purchased.

Nicole Green (Accounting / Administration) – Nicole is married to Stephen and has come on board when the Hotondo Homes franchise was purchased.

Shree Green (Pre-Construction Assistant) – Shree is Mark and Stephen’s sister and is responsible for the preparation of plans and related documents for council certification. Shree also collates information for the preparation of handover packs, ensuring all relevant inspections have been completed and all certificates issued.

Russell Kay - Cavalier Homes

Russel Kay started his career as an apprentice carpenter and progressed to Senior Management, before establishing himself as the owner operator of Cavalier Homes Sunshine Coast. During his thirty years experience within the building industry Russel has learned that customer service is everything which allows the client the benefit of working directly with Russel as he manages the construction of their home.

Having established relationships with the areas best trades-people and suppliers, allows Russel and his team to deliver the highest standard of construction and a timely completion of his projects.

Cavalier Homes Sunshine Coast is proud to be selected to the National Building Solutions panel of builders and currently has almost twenty NBS jobs between slab and completion stages.
